Ami Hall

Copeland Locality GP Lead

Originally brought up in Workington, I went to Medical School at the University of Glasgow and completed my GP training. Following this, I returned to West Cumbria and have worked as a salaried doctor in Lowther Medical Centre since 2014. I have been a GP Partner there since January 2020 at the start of the Covid Pandemic. This unique period of time allowed much analysis, quality improvement and development within the services which I enjoy.

I also invest a lot of my working life into staff support and development. I became a GP Trainer in 2021 and have welcomed medical students, GP Registrars and Foundation Doctors within the team. I have supported and developed many different allied professional roles within the team, including pharmacists, mental health practitioners, paramedics and physician associates to improve the quality of care. I believe in the MDT approach to the future of Primary Care and have recently performed the role of Copeland Primary Care Network Clinical Director.

Within my free time in Cumbria, I enjoy the beautiful surroundings with my family and my two cocker spaniels! You won’t know me without your photograph being taken and I enjoy painting acrylic landscapes. I also like to take part in sponsorship events in aid of an amazing local charity Team Evie.
